How to Keep Footwear Good-Looking in Wet Seasons

How to Keep Footwear Looking Good in Wet Seasons.

Wet seasons are not the best ones for footwear: dirty sidewalks, rain and sand on the ground. These seasons put our boots at risk regardless of the material. Keeping a premixed boot cleaner in a spray bottle to have on hand for any case is always a good option.

There are several tried solutions to cleaning and protecting winter shoes.

Leather cleaning

It takes courage to wear leather shoes and boots on a snowy day, but still many of us do that. To protect leather boots from slushy walkways, you can massage some olive oil into the leather to keep it soft as it dries. Use white vinegar, olive oil or a few drops of tea tree oil and wait until the leather absorbs it.

Suede and Faux-Suede cleaning

The material tends to stiffen as it dries and when it is completely dry, you can use a soft-bristled brush to soften the nap. Spray a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water on your brush, and then gently massage the brush against the boots.

Rubber Boots cleaning

We constantly wear rubber boots in spring and fall. Both real and synthetic rubber boots are difficult to damage. One of the best ways to treat them is keeping a spray bottle with 50/50 white vinegar and water and spray it when you remove them.

We hope this helped you find better treatment choices for your beloved footwear in the wet seasons.
